Dont know either to be honest!

I know that I am going to have a smaller lighter one next time!!
But will train with a bigger pack at about 11kg over the next year and a helf or so, so that the lighter , smaller one will be a doddle come race day!!

well one thing i did learn from this MDS was a few things i SHOULD have took but couldnt cos i couldnt fit them into my pack. next time, i wont do that. i will decide on the pack before i go and wont diddle with it once i get there. that was a big mistake this time round. Al

I thought the raidlight looked clumsy and unbalanced, but that's IMO. I like what I used vey much - 64Zer0. I would also consider the Kimmlite as I have one and its nice. I like the top zip pocket.

Raidlight-Pah! Started training in Jan, thing needed the RAF riggers to reinforce straps and buckles by mid Feb. Chest straps worked their own way loose and had to sewn up. Holes had appeared by mid Mar where the straps had rubbed. The silver lining wore off and stained kit inside, the zip could only be done up on one side, if done up in the middle it worked in own way loose. The front pouch zip has a storm flap that the zip caught on every time it was used. The belt pockets could only be opened or closed using one hand to hold and one hand to operate the zip. I liked the bottle arrangement on the front pouch and it was a nice shade of blue.

Used a raidlight with front pouch and didn't have a problem. A few weeks into training a few holes wore through from the straps but bnothing a needle and thread couldn't sort out. Balance was great, especially once the front pouch was used which balanced the pack on my shoulders. Also, stacks of room in my bag! I could have fitted 10 days rations without any problems.

I used a berghaus 64zero and it was great I had no rubbing or anything else for that matter all week. I also used an under armour T shirt which worked very well too.

i found the raidlight excellent and will definitely use it in future races! i used it with a moletrack front pack, as i'm not tall enough for the raidlight one to sit flat. christian at buncup sent it with a couple of extra clips which i sewed to the backpack straps. only snag was getting in and out of the full contraption with all the clips, but that was only once a day! the balance was great, and i had loads of room in each. a couple of holes appeared under the backpack clips that go over the zip, but i sewed on a couple of little patches, which solved the problem. the pack itself is extremely light, which i think is essential.

I used the Raidlight without front pouch and found it really good. Buying a new 25 litre OMM (KIMM sac as now is known!) to try for UK mountain marathons.
